Pelorus Surveys Launch Sea Cat
Pelorus Surveys recently purchased a vessel for marine survey operations. The Sea Cat, an MCA Category 2, 11 metre vessel will be fitted with an A frame and undergo an extensive refit to house the state of the art equipment to enable hydrographic, geophysical, oceanographic and environmental surveys to be conducted up to 60 miles from a safe haven.
Since purchasing, the vessel has already been used for extensive hydrographic surveys of the River Dee and will soon be transported to the River Thames where she will be launched from Mowlem Marines Yard in Northfleet to undertake survey work at Westminster Bridge.
The Sea Cat has the added advantage of being road transportable without the need for a police escort, facilitating cost effective surveys, combined with rapid mobilisation and acquisition of quality survey data from site around the British Isles, Ireland and Northern Europe. |
