Water Hygiene for Hagemeyer (UK) Ltd
In March 2003, Environmental Services Group Ltd (ESGL) was awarded another contract, further expanding its water hygiene portfolio, by addition of a
nation-wide Legionella risk assessment contract for Hagemeyer (UK) Limited.
Hagemeyer, a Dutch company, is one of the world's
most successful Business to Business (B2B) distribution
service groups, trading through a network of wholesale
and retail outlet premises under the more familiar
names of Parker Merchanting, Newey and Eyre, Ross
Electrical, A&A Security, WF Wades and others.
This was the largest multi-site national contract
awarded to ESGL covering some 324 sites throughout
the UK and the Republic of Ireland. A team of
dedicated technicians worked out in the field
for some nine months to undertake site inspections,
supported by Head Office collating the reports
as information was received. The mobile technicians
utilised a 'Sat Nav' systems as the most efficient
means of locating each property thus minimising
time spent seeking out the Hagemeyer depots.
ESGL completed a detailed survey of each property producing formal reports containing the accurate survey data and defining the assessed risk together with
any necessary remedial, controlling or monitoring works to reduce the risk to an acceptable level. Schematic drawings of systems were also produced to
complete the process in full compliance with the recommendations of ACOP (L8).
